In the awards November series of blog posts, we get to know the brands behind the nominee products of the European Natural Beauty Awards 2023. In this post, we are proud to share more about the French natural cosmetics brand Secrets d’Aloyse, as told by the brand:
“I am Christine, an artisan based in Chambéry, Savoie. In November 2016, I established SECRETS D’ALOYSE with the aim of offering 100% natural cosmetic products crafted from minimally processed ingredients sourced from organic farming.
My journey into creating these products began due to respiratory and skin allergy issues stemming from the use of conventional cosmetics containing ultra-processed ingredients, chemical preservatives, and synthetic fragrances. It was during this period that my memories of learning the botanical secrets from my grandparents resurfaced.
My product formulations strive to emulate “homemade” cosmetics, utilizing 100% active ingredients derived solely from non-deodorized vegetable oils or butter, floral waters, and essential oils. They are devoid of palm oil and its derivatives, as well as chemical preservatives.
Each item within my product line is handcrafted by me in the workshop and openly displayed within the store situated in Chambéry’s city center. Whenever feasible, I opt for glass packaging that customers can return to me once empty for reuse. For products where glass packaging isn’t feasible, I utilize eco-designed airless bottles.
The name of my company, SECRETS D’ALOYSE, is a tribute to my grandparents who imparted their wisdom on the benefits of nature.”
